Sayward Futures Society became incorporated in December 2000. Their
mission is to work in harmony with others to create a sound economic and
positive social environment within the Sayward area. This would be
accomplished by:
1. Creating economic and employment opportunities
2. Facilitating community development initiatives.
3. Assisting residents to fulfill their business and community visions.
Since the inception of this non-profit organization, they have provided many
studies and reports pertaining to the area that are available to the public. They
also took over the divestiture of the Dept. of Transport Wharf and manage the Elk
Creek Recreation Site and H’kusam Mountain Trail. They are the Sayward area
liaison to provide computer and fax services for the North Island Employment
Foundation Society.
At the present time, the Board consists of 4 Directors:

They also have in-house committees consisting of Board members and Staff only
– Executive, Policy and Procedures, Human Resources and Finance.
Membership in the Society is open to everyone. The dues for 2010 are $10. This
fee enables members to display brochures and business cards in the office and
place hand -crafted items on consignment in Ocean View Gifts.
